Capital Murder and Robbery Case - Amended
R.G. was charged with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree. The stakes were extremely high as R.G. was facing the ultimate punishment - death or life in prison. After filing briefs, motions, and holding a long hearing, Tucker Richardson and Russ Baldani successfully argued to the trial Court to get the death penalty taken off the table. The Commonwealth appealed that decision to the Kentucky Supreme Court. After an unfavorable ruling from the Kentucky Supreme Court, the case was again set for a month-long trial with death or life in prison still a possibility. After three years of negotiations and the trial date quickly approaching, Tucker Richardson and Russ Baldani were able to strike a plea deal for R.G. to Manslaughter and Robbery 1st Degree, carrying a 23-year sentence.
